We had a beautiful hot sunny weekend in Boston, it finally feels like Spring! After our super loooooong New England winter it feels so good to wear a t-shirt and flip-flops. I haven’t been active on Fitarella for a while, I apologize. I hope you’re not all ticked-off with me. I could give the “I’ve been super busy” speech (which would be true), but the truth is, I didn’t feel like I had anything to say or contribute. So rather than waste your time with my crazy rambling, I just stopped writing. So, do I have anything amazing to say now? Ummm, no, but I wanted to touch base and say hello anyway.
On the fitness front, Fitarella went bust! Seriously. After running sick in the NYC Marathon my body was beat so I took a little break. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to take a little break and just slow down my workouts. Instead I stop completely cold turkey, get sucked into sleeping a little later, staying up later and snacking A LOT…its a vicious cycle. But I’m not complaining, its been fun just lounging & eating, especially during those frosty winter months (homemade stews, pies, hot chocolate…Mmmmm). But now its time to get back into the groove ‘cuz mama’s butt is going KAPOW!!! Not that that’s an entirely bad thing, however, not being able to button my pants…that’s uncomfortable. According to my doctor’s scale I gained about 10 pounds (damn that chocolate cheesecake!) Interestingly though, I’m not freaked out. Maybe because I didn’t gain the weight in a negative way (lost in binges past), but instead I really enjoyed eating and splurging these last few months without restriction. Not that I don’t usually enjoy my eating, but this just felt like a constant merry feast with friends & family. Ole!
This would definitely be a great segway to a post about ‘balance’, but I just don’t feel like going there tonight. Tomorrow morning I’m back on the running trail!
