Today I began my 21 days on David Kirsch’s Ultimate Summer Slimdown, I thought it be a fun way to kick off my re-entry to the fabulous world of exercise. After coming off an almost 5 month slump, I definitely needed something to push me and keep me focused. How bad could 21 days be?
The workouts for all of week one were posted and although they look intense, they seem pretty doable. There is a lot of stability & medicine ball work, which I don’t usually do, so at least I’ll be doing something new. Each workout is complete with pictures and description and linked to the weekly calendar. There are also community forums to connect with other on the plan. Although, I posted a “hello” and have yet to get a response, so maybe I’m the only one on it? I also posted a question about one of the workouts, but no answer either. I would have thought they’d have a moderator monitoring for newbie questions…
For nutrition there is a “guide” on what to do for the 21 days. This is the part I might have some trouble with. For this program, David asks that you follow the A,B,C,D,E, & F’s of nutrition…no alcohol, no bread, no (starchy) carbs, no dairy, no extra sweets (including artificial sweeteners), and no fruit & most fats. Oh…and no coffee!!!! I can deal with the no alcohol, no bread, no dairy…but NO coffee???!!!!!!! Oh David, you’re killin’ me!!!! I can smell that rich java right now (sigh). However, when I signed up, it was made clear that this was meant to be a challenging and rigorous program, so I shouldn’t bitch too much (but probably will anyway).
If you’d like to join me in the fun, it’s not too late! The 21 day program is Free and you can sign up here. It’s only 21 days of your life, let’s go through coffee withdrawals together!
(FYI- I have no affiliation with the David Kirsch Wellness Co, nor am I getting any perks, freebies or money from them behind the scenes. I just thought it be something fun & new to try)
