*a follow up to the “What If” Challenge Post*
Ok, so by now we’ve all had some time to think about our “what ifs” that we’d like to put into action, right? You don’t need a bunch (although you can have as many as you want), all you need is one.
What I’m thinking is that we all post our “what ifs” on our blogs today (please link back to this post so we can all find each other) so that they are OUT THERE, spoken and put out into the universe. Because that’s huge right? Once we speak something it begins this chain reaction and sets the energy in motion and there is no turning back. Sure, you can stop the chain by not following through, but you can’t take back that you put it out to begin with.
Our “what ifs” will all be different, some might take some time to accomplish and some my be done in a single act. So because of that I don’t want to set any time limits for our individual journeys, but rather a weekly check in. Mizzy suggested “what if Wednesday” which I think is a fabulous idea. We can each post a “what if” update on our blogs on Wednesday so that 1) there is a set day to be accountable to update everyone, and 2)everyone knows to check in and support each other/give feedback, etc on Wed. If your “what if” doesn’t take a long time to accomplish and you are done by the next Wednesday, why not choose another “what if” on your list and go again? I don’t think we can ever do too many “what ifs”!!!
So, what do you think? I am completely open to suggestions if you’d like to do this differently.
As for my “what if”? Here goes:
What if I started a local organization to help young girls, like my daughter, learn about health, self-esteem, and physical activity?
I’ve been thinking about this for a looooooong time now. My biggest fear is that my daughter grow up with all the body image and self-esteem issues I had and I hope I have been steering her in the right direction. But I’ve also thought, what better way to teach her then to lead by example and also teach others with her by my side? She and I teaching other girls together.
So, I’ve contacted the Girls On The Run organization to start a local council in my county. Its not going to be an easy process. The application process is long, I need to put together a steering committee, I need to raise A LOT of money, go through training and file for nonprofit status…but it will never get done by me just thinking about it or wondering what if? and there in lies my challenge
Now you. Tell me your what if please!!!!
