Getting back to working out after the flu has been rough. I know it takes time, but starting up from what feels like “the beginning” just plain stinks. Yes people, I am whining. (Go ahead, tell me to suck it up)
In other, more exciting news, today is National “Eat what you want day!” Yes, its true, a holiday to treat yourself guilt free! Not, that any of us should need a holiday for that, because we all deserve to treat ourselves! But in the spirit of this holiday, what would you choose to eat today if you could have ANYTHING your tummy desired?
Me?
then this:
topping off with this: Yes, HOT OOZY CHOCOLATE MOLTEN LAVA cake
Ok, now you!!! Spill it!
Tomorrow it will be one week I have been eating completely vegan and completely raw. It has been rough. Really rough. I have detoxed from coffee and sugar before in the past, but never at the same time and without the comfort of “regular” food.
Day 1 started off fairly easy. I was excited about this journey and it was all new and shiny. “Oooooh look at me, I’m vegan raw! Aren’t I cool?!”
Day 2 the headaches began but I was still in excitement mode.
Day 3 I still had a headache and was really missing my huge mug of hot coffee in the a.m.
Day 4 Not feeling well at all. My body was achy, I had a runny nose, and I was cold. That night I kept waking up every few hours.
Day 5 Came uber grumpiness. Boy was I pissy! Where the frick is my frickin coffee dang it?!! and my Twizzlers??!!
Day 6 Finally an ok day. No headache, no aches, and my first day I didn’t miss coffee.
Pretty amazing that caffeine & sugar have had such a hold on my body that it has been physically sick for the last week!
So, now on to days 7-30! I have come across so many great recipes that I have been wanting to try and would really spice things up. The problem is that I’m lazy, I don’t really like to cook. Yes, I know there should be no cooking involved in raw, but there are other cooking-like things such as dehydrating, sprouting, juicing, and spiraling (ok, this is probably not the name for it, but it a little machine that spirals the zucchini out like pasta). So as someone that typically eats tuna out of the can, I have no desire to start getting creative in the kitchen now. Which leaves me with my smoothies (I do blenders), salads, nuts, oats, fruit, veggies & hemp protein powder. Let’s hope I get inspired by the time the 30 days is up!
How are all of YOU doing #30daysveganraw crew?
